We disturbed some conscientious NUS muggers to ask some 'boliao' questions
Our over the top attempt at procrastination.
While Week 13 usually sees students going crazy, rushing out assignments and submissions, Week 14 (Reading Week) comes as a well-deserved break right before the madness that is the finals period. Most students spend reading week doing anything but reading, but we knew that NUS’ brightest and most responsible were going to be in school mugging.
So, instead of preparing for our own finals (pfft), last week, we headed down to a couple of places on campus to check on how they were doing - and just for the fun of it, posed them a couple of questions. For the benefit of the other students who were around studying, we captured the answers with the good old-fashioned whiteboard #considerate. Below are our questions and some of the best answers we got.
We started off with the more sobering one, forcing them to reflect upon the semester:
“It’s Week 14. What are your biggest regrets from the past 13 weeks?”
Shao Qing, Year 1 Philosophy
Min & Joan, Year 4 Sociology
Matthew, Year 2 Engineering
Pearlyn, Year 3 Economics
Too real.
Hilda & Joey, Year 1 Business
That is one big regret.
Marcus, Year 2 Business & Jerrald, Year 2 Computing
Teach us, senpai.
Nathaniel, Year 4 Marketing
Someone give this man a medal.
Victoria, Year 2 Nursing & Ying Cui, Year 4 New Media
Not gonna lie, that hurt.
Aaron, Year 1 Business
Hui Yee, Year 1 FASS & Sandy, Year 1 New Media
They were genuinely devastated.
Brian, Year 2 Engineering & Zack, Year 1 Engineering
It’s not?!
Michelle, Year 3 Marketing
Someone tag the prof.
Then, we made them contemplate about things forbidden.
“What would you rather be doing right now at this moment instead of studying?”
Yu See, Year 3 Accounting/Finance & Kristin, Year 3 Marketing
Ying Ning, Year 2 Social Work & Chan Tian, Year 2 Statistics/Economics
NUS' poster boy.
Ren Yi, Year 1 Engineering & Angelica, NTU
Does travelling from UTown to the CLB count?
Ken, Year 2 Engineering
#fitspo, amongst other things.
Mara & Lukas, Exchange Students from Germany
Dat #exchangelyfe.
Savannah, Year 2 Psychology & Chloe, Year 1 Economics
Brian & Ying Jie, Year 1 Business
2 'tai', in case you were wondering.
We asked, "what", not "who".
Elysa & Adeline, Year 1 FASS
Well this is awkward love triangle.
Personally, I would much rather be on a beach in Phuket sipping on a daiquiri while getting massaged by a sufficiently large thai woman, than writing this article. Still, it seems like we got some pretty cool answers from you guys. What else would you like to know about your fellow students? Hit us up with a suggestion or simply submit a story of anything you want us to cover!
The Bullet wishes everyone all the best for any upcoming finals! Offerings have also been sent to the bell-curve god on behalf of all who were interviewed. You’re welcome.
