On Exchange: NUS Student Meets Creepy Airbnb Host In Munich
“German sausage” takes on a new meaning.
This April, our fellow NUS student on exchange met with a disturbing incident involving her Airbnb host in Munich, Germany. What started off as a routine short trip descended into an extremely uncomfortable situation for both the poor girl and her friend.
The Situation
Faced with Wi-Fi connectivity issues on the first night, Pamela (not her real name), left her room in the middle of the night when she caught her German Airbnb host in the living room seemingly with his hands down his “really short shorts”. We really don’t have to explain any further, do we?
However, Pamela’s horror did not end there. After awkwardly retreating to her room, she received the following texts:
Fortunately, Pamela does not see race. #alllivesmatter
That’s not the only thing coming out.

The Host
For those planning a trip to the area, be warned. Here’s what the host and his listing look like.

O Raphael, with the name of an archangel - or at least that of an upright, crime-fighting turtle - we definitely expected better from you.
At least there are windows to escape through.
The Outcome
Pamela and her friend ended up packing their luggage and leaving the following day, camping out at the nearest Starbucks while trying to source for a new host. They definitely deserve a pat on the back for being so calm and cool about it. Thankfully, they managed to get a full refund on this listing and no damage was done (apart from how it must’ve been very hard on Pamela’s eyes).
Here at The Bullet, we’re still wondering though... Was there indeed a difference between the German host and his Asian counterparts?
